from Americans for the Arts
The arts have long been part of the economic exchange in communities and regional economies. Until recently, the importance of the creative sector has been difficult to measure. However, evidence continues to grow that the arts are a significant sector of the American economy. This monograph reports the findings from the April 2002 “Building Creative Economies” conference, including 12 recommendations that emerged from the conference concerning the development of creative economies and creative entrepreneurship.
