What is ArtsLab’s Leadership Idea Exchange?
An affinity group of ArtsLab alumni and professionals engaged in supporting the arts and culture sector as consultants, trainers, mentors and educators. The Idea Exchange will convene 3-4 times per year. Utilizing the participatory, peer approaches inherent to ArtsLab, this learning community is intended to build a strong network of mentors, educators and leaders ready to guide the sector in change management. Eligibility Guidelines
- Currently active as an educator, trainer, consultant, mentor to artists and/or arts organizations within Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or St. Croix and Pierce Counties of Wisconsin
- Committed to supporting the role of the arts in community development and to working with community-based arts organizations
- Committed to the work of small and midsized arts organizations and the artists served by these organizations;
- Committed to participatory learning practices – dialogue, collaborative processes, self-examination and openness to change, shared leadership
- Committed to creating new knowledge and practice to advance the field
- Willing to fully commit to three years of involvement, with 2-3 sessions per year plus potential for engagement in preparation for leadership in at least one session
