Forecast Public Art strengthens and advances the field of public art — locally, nationally and internationally — by expanding participation, supporting artists, informing audiences, and assisting communities.
As an organization, Forecast Public Art believes public access to artistic experiences improves the everyday lives of all people. Our collaborative efforts enhance the vitality and authenticity of our shared spaces by fostering a culturally vibrant world where creativity and community connect.
Forecast is an umbrella organization that provides artist grants, consulting services, and a semi-annual magazine titled Public Art Review.
Public Art Review is the world’s leading journal critically exploring contemporary public art. Created in 1989, the Review currently serves 10,000 readers in all fifty states and twenty foreign countries. Forecast also awards 8 – 10 competitive grants each year to emerging Minnesota artists, and provides consultative support to public art initiatives.
